F1 Oversteer has taken a look into each team’s confirmed driver line-up for the 2025 Formula 1 season as the 20-strong grid for next season already begins to take shape.
Teams have moved early in 2024 to set their line-ups for next year to get a jump start on the driver market. Ferrari were the first team to move when they confirmed that Charles Leclerc signed a new contract in January. McLaren also gave Lando Norris fresh terms in January.
Ferrari even doubled down to set their 2025 driver line-up in February when they confirmed that Lewis Hamilton had agreed to leave Mercedes. The seven-time F1 champion also signed a multi-year contract for the Scuderia to replace Carlos Sainz in red after the 2024 season.

Several seats remain up for grabs for 2025 up and down the Formula 1 grid, though. So, with that in mind, F1 Oversteer has taken a look at each team’s confirmed driver line-up for 2025.
Red Bull 2025 driver line-up: Max Verstappen and Liam Lawson
Red Bull will field a new driver line-up for the first time since 2021 as Liam Lawson joins Max Verstappen for the 2025 Formula 1 season. The Milton Keynes crew ultimately decided in December 2024 to axe Sergio Perez and quickly promoted Lawson from Visa Cash App RB.
Verstappen is under contract with Red Bull through the 2028 season, although his deal even features release clauses. Lawson, on the other hand, will race for his future at Red Bull from the off after only signing a one-year deal to replace Perez – who initially had a deal for 2025.
After a disastrous year in 2024, Red Bull sacked Perez that December with his contract for the 2025 F1 season terminated. So, with a seat up for grabs, Red Bull promoted Lawson into their main driver line-up, despite him only ever contesting 11 Grand Prix in Formula 1 at RB.
Mercedes 2025 driver line-up: George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli
Mercedes locked in their 2025 driver line-up in August 2024 by confirming that Andrea Kimi Antonelli would replace Hamilton and debut in Formula 1 beside George Russell. The Silver Arrows searched since February for Hamilton’s heir before promoting their academy driver.

Antonelli has rapidly risen the motorsport ladder after winning German and Italian F4 titles in 2022 plus the Formula Regional European and Middle East 2023 titles, and debuted in F2 in 2024. The Italian will join F1 in 2025 beside Russell, who is out of contract after that season.
Ferrari 2025 driver line-up: Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton
Ferrari confirmed their 2025 driver line-up in February 2024 by tempting Lewis Hamilton to join from Mercedes. The Scuderia handed the seven-time F1 drivers’ champion a multi-year deal to replace Carlos Sainz, who was already due to be out of contract after the 2024 term.
Charles Leclerc also signed a new contract with Ferrari in January 2024 that ties him to the team through 2029. But his deal has potential break clauses that could see the Monegasque depart sooner. Leclerc was out of contract after 2024 before agreeing to sign the extension.
McLaren 2025 driver line-up: Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri
McLaren locked in their driver line-up through at least the 2026 season in January 2024 with Lando Norris signing a new contract through at least the 2028 campaign. The Woking squad had already locked Oscar Piastri down through at least the 2026 season in September 2023.
Aston Martin 2025 driver line-up: Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll

Aston Martin announced that Fernando Alonso signed a new contract with the team to stay through at least the 2026 season in April 2024. He was due to be out of contract after 2024 having joined from Alpine to replace Sebastian Vettel on an initial two-year contract in 2023.
The Silverstone squad also confirmed before the 2024 Austrian GP that Lance Stroll signed a new, long-term contract with Aston Martin. His latest terms keep the Canadian at the squad his father, Lawrence Stroll, owns into at least F1’s new 2026 engine and chassis regulations.
Alpine 2025 driver line-up: Pierre Gasly and Jack Doohan
Alpine have locked in their 2025 driver line-up after handing Pierre Gasly a new contract and promoting reserve driver Jack Doohan to a race seat. Gasly agreed to sign a fresh multi-year deal, while Doohan will replace Esteban Ocon on a one-year deal to get his Formula 1 debut.

Williams 2025 driver line-up: Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz
Williams locked in their driver line-up for 2025 and beyond in July 2024 by signing departing Ferrari star Sainz to replace Logan Sargeant as the teammate of Alex Albon. The Grove crew had already locked Albon down through at least the 2027 season in May 2024, before team principal James Vowles signed Sainz on an initial two-year deal, with options to stay longer.
Visa Cash App Racing Bulls 2025 driver line-up: Yuki Tsunoda and Isack Hadjar
Visa Cash App Racing Bulls were the last team to announce their driver line-up for the 2025 F1 season as Isack Hadjar only secured his graduation from Formula 2 to join Yuki Tsunoda in December 2024. Red Bull left it until Lawson replaced Perez to rule on Hadjar’s future in F1.
The second seat with RB, who will also rebrand slightly as Racing Bulls in 2025, has changed hands multiple times in recent years since Daniel Ricciardo replaced Nyck de Vries part-way through 2023 only for the same fate to befall the Australian in 2024 when Lawson came in.
Lawson’s 11 Grand Prix with the Faenza natives – including five as AlphaTauri and six as RB – ultimately convinced Red Bull that he should replace Perez from 2025. The Kiwi’s promotion thus created a seat at RB for Hadjar to graduate after his unsuccessful F2 title bid in 2024.
Sauber 2025 driver line-up: Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto
Sauber announced the first driver for their 2025 line-up on April 26, 2024 with confirmation of Nico Hulkenberg joining. The German will leave Haas after two years at the end of 2024 to help shape Sauber’s future ahead of Audi taking the Swiss outfit over as its works F1 entry.
The Hinwil outfit will become Audi’s factory Formula 1 team in 2026. So, the German giant sought to get its feet under the table early by setting their driver line-up for 2025. Current Sauber pair Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu are both out of contract after the 2024 season.
Hulkenberg, who also previously raced for Sauber in 2013, signed a multi-year contract with Audi. Yet he had to wait until November 6, 2024 for Audi to announce the arrival of Gabriel Bortoleto after the Brazilian signed a multi-year contract to debut in F1 with Sauber in 2025.
Haas 2025 driver line-up: Oliver Bearman and Esteban Ocon
The 2025 Formula 1 season will see Haas field an entirely new driver line-up, having signed Oliver Bearman and Ocon to multi-year contracts. Ferrari Driver Academy gem Bearman will graduate from Formula 2, while Ocon will join from Alpine after losing the drive in Enstone.
Haas announced that Bearman will step up from F2 in July 2024 ahead of the British Grand Prix as the American-owned team responded to Audi/Sauber signing Hulkenberg. Haas also confirmed in July 2024 that Kevin Magnussen would leave them at the end of his contract.
